YOU WILL:

  • Define technical specifications and performance requirements for the Motor Control Unit.

  • Collaborate with the vehicle system integration to align MCU specifications with motor and vehicle system requirements.

  • Work alongside Mechanical, Electrical, and Software Engineers to help define requirements for motor control software and interfacing hardware components including voltage and current sensors, power stages, speed sensors.

  • Engage with suppliers on MCU system architecture and design choices.

  • Lead the integration of MCUs with electric motors and vehicle systems.

  • Calibrate powertrain performance attributes like pedal response, drive-ability, torque split to deliver the best customer experience in terms of responsiveness, range, and other performance attributes.

  • Develop and execute test plans to validate MCU performance under various operating conditions.

  • Manage and analyze complex data from drivetrain systems to solve performance issues effectively.

  • Improve our tools and processes used to calibrate algorithms for future powertrains.

  • Ensure compliance with automotive safety and environmental standards.




YOU HAVE: 

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Power and Machines or Electronics.

  • Proven experience in Drivetrain calibration and tuning, specifically in an automotive application.

  • Strong understanding of motor control theory and MCU technology.

  • Strong fundamentals of AC electric motors and drive systems analysis, modeling (ex. using MATLAB) and control.

  • In-depth understanding of torque control techniques such as field-oriented control and direct torque control.

  • Comprehensive knowledge and expertise in vehicle tuning parameters, with the ability to identify, configure, and optimize key parameters such as throttle sensitivity, maximum forward/reverse speed, torque ramp rate, regenerative braking intensity, motor temperature protection thresholds and creep torque.

  • Experience in system integration and testing.

  • Familiarity with automotive industry standards and communication protocols.

  • Strong communication and preference for working in teams

  • Excellent command on Arabic and English Language.
