As part of our Quality team, you’ll help build the state-of-the-art smart vehicles our customers expect from us. We’re constantly developing new technologies and processes within our plant to increase our efficiency further. That means we’re continually seeking diligent, determined performers who think outside the box to help us find better, more efficient ways to manufacture our vehicles. You will be responsible for managing and improving the quality of our supply chain, working closely with suppliers to drive continuous improvement and uphold our commitment to delivering exceptional products. You will collaborate with the Supply Chain team, Quality team, and Manufacturing Engineering to deliver high-quality products/components to defined standards.
YOU'LL HAVE OWNERSHIP OVER:
Supplier Evaluation and Selection: Assessing potential suppliers for their capabilities, quality management systems, and ability to meet automotive industry standards. This involves conducting audits, reviewing documentation, and most probably visiting supplier facilities.
Quality Standards Compliance: Ensuring that suppliers adhere to industry quality standards such as ISO/TS 16949, IATF 16949, or other applicable standards. This involves monitoring suppliers' quality processes and procedures.
Quality Assurance: Developing and implementing quality assurance processes to ensure that parts and components meet specifications and requirements. This may involve creating inspection plans, establishing testing protocols, and defining acceptable quality levels (AQLs).
Supplier Performance Monitoring: Monitoring supplier performance through key performance indicators (KPIs) such as defect rates and corrective action response time. Identifying areas for improvement and working with suppliers to implement corrective actions.
Root Cause Analysis and Problem Solving: Investigate quality issues, defects, and non-conformances to identify root causes and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPAs). This may involve using tools such as 8D methodology, fishbone diagrams, or Pareto analysis.
Continuous Improvement: Driving continuous improvement initiatives both internally and with suppliers to enhance quality, reduce defects, improve processes, and increase efficiency.
New Product Introduction (NPI) Support: Collaborating with suppliers during the introduction of new products or components to ensure that quality requirements are met from the outset.
Documentation and Reporting: Maintaining accurate records of supplier performance, quality audits, inspection results, and corrective actions. Generating reports to communicate quality metrics and trends to relevant stakeholders.
Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborating with other departments such as engineering, manufacturing, purchasing, and logistics to ensure alignment on quality requirements and resolve issues effectively.
Risk Management: Identifying and mitigating quality risks associated with supplier processes, materials, or changes in production methods.
Lead, coach, train & assess the performance of team members, and ensure compliance with best practices.
Ensure compliance to timeline and quality for various phases of the engineering process.
Develop operational initiatives and participate in various meetings.
Ensuring that workflows, processes, and products comply with safety regulations.
Develop and compile best practices for a specific manufacturing process and support implementation with other same commodity suppliers
Assist in the deployment, development, and improvement of the Quality Management System.
You have:
Electrical/mechanical engineering degree with perfect understanding and experience in problem-solving & troubleshooting with 3-5 years experience in quality engineering, quality assurance, or a similar role.
Basic knowledge & background in the automotive industry
Knowledgeable of the safety precautions of high voltage usage
Excellent verbal and written communication and strong interpersonal skills
Strong analytical skills
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
Able to work efficiently in a team environment
Basic mathematical arithmetic skills
